Welcome to Spring! Every May 1st come dance around the Maypole with your community as we celebrate a tradition going on since the darkest of ages.
May Day Celebration and Potluck at Woodland Park (just off Aurora and 60th, next to the horseshoe courts). We take over the field at 3PM and weave the pole! Dance, sing, and bring spring in with love in your heart. Wear white and bring flowers, for head wreaths. Bring a dish to share, drink and good spirits. Pack out everything you bring. All are welcome – Fremont Arts Council membership encouraged but not required.
A Green Man and May Queen will be picked from the crowd, the May Pole will be wound, food will be shared, and good luck will be gained by jumping over a Beltane Fire.
