Learn to work with round reed and paper to create a special luminary of your own design. Sarah will be available to help you work out the details and make sure your design will work and is doable in the 4 week timeframe. These luminaries provide lovely creative accent to your home.
Course fee: $50 includes all materials, 4 classes, plus optional open studio times before the Luminata procession.
Class 1 (Aug 12th): design your luminary and staple down the wet reed. Come with your sketch ideas. I suggest something fairly simple- like a bird, fish, but anything you want to make is possible.
Class 2 (Aug 19th): Pull up the reed and create the 3-D frame. This may take longer than one class.
Class 3 (Aug 26th): Cover your frame with cheesecloth and translucent paper.
Class 4 (Sept 2nd): Decorate and complete your luminary. Apply details, colored tissue, and lights.
Bring your luminary and celebrate the Fall equinox with us!Sept 23rd Luminata at Greenlake.
